There are two main reasons why cement rotary kiln pulverized coal burner castable damage. Firstly, the influence of thermal stress. On one hand Rotary kiln burner is in the front of the kiln where the temperature can reach 600℃~1300℃. Temperature differences lead to different thermal expansion coefficient, with a period of time the uneven parts of the heat will produce cracks. On the other hand, the upper part of the casting material and the lower part of the casting material is different with the gravity effect and the different density result in uneven thermal conductivity, it will be easy to crack finally. Secondly, Effect of mechanical stress. High temperature of the secondary air from the bottom of the pulverized coal burner is blown into the kiln. This part of the entrained clinker dust secondary air more or less, which has great influence on the scourbility of lower part of pulverized coal burner. This leads to a crack that will gradually become larger, even revealing the internal anchor. Anchoring pieces of welds will be melt with the high temperature. Due to gravity anchor with castable together drop leads to metal burner shell exposed, burner will easily crack under high temperature without the protection of castable. Once the cracks caused by air leakage, the burner cannot continue to use.
In view of the problem of cement rotary kiln coal powder burner pouring material damage, there are some suggestions.
1. Choose vertical construction. The heavy equipment will lift the whole burner and poure vertical to the ground, the casting method can let the cast material more uniform density and pouring head more closely.
2. Chamfer should be used for pulverized coal burner instead of barrel type.
3. All the anchor and the surface should be covered of a layer of wax before pouring to prevent the damage of the pouring material caused by thermal expansion of the burner.
4. Pouring material should be high temperature wear resistance, spalling resistance, relatively weight. It is recommended to add the SiC or other high temperature wear resistant material because that the lower part of the front end of the pulverized coal burner is very easy to wear. Strict control of construction water consumption, the proposed water consumption of less than 8%. Under the premise of ensuring the performance of the construction, the amount of water should be strictly controlled, less more than more.
