In the design of the belt conveyor, how to choose the belt conveyor drive device reasonably is the key in the design of the belt conveyor. It is also the key issue of whether the belt conveyor is operating normally, the maintenance cost and the amount of maintenance. The belt drive device is mainly divided into electric drum drive and motor reducer drive. According to the actual situation, there are many different configurations of belt conveyor drive. Listed below are several commonly used drive methods for reference.
(1) Electric drum
Electric drum is divided into built-in electric drum and external electric drum. The main difference is that the built-in electric drum motor is installed inside the drum; the external electric drum motor is installed outside the drum and is rigidly connected to the drum.
The built-in electric drum motor has poor heat dissipation and is generally used on belt conveyors with a power of 30kW or less and a machine length of less than 150m. The externally mounted electric roller motor has good heat dissipation, and is generally used on belt conveyors with a power below 45kW and a length of less than 150m.
Features: compact structure, driving device and driving drum are combined into one, the maintenance of built-in electric drum is more troublesome.
(2) Y-type motor + coupling + reducer
Generally used on belt conveyors with power below 45kW and length less than 150m.
Features: Simple structure, small maintenance workload, low maintenance cost and high reliability.
(3) Y-type motor + torque-limiting hydraulic coupling + reducer
If you choose Y-type motor + torque-limiting fluid coupling + reducer drive mode, it is recommended to use a torque-limiting fluid coupling with a rear auxiliary chamber for the fluid coupling.
Features: High performance-price ratio, simple and compact structure, protects the motor from overload, but is greatly restricted by heat dissipation conditions.
(4) Y-type electric motor + speed-regulating hydraulic coupling + reducer
The structure is simple, the load starts, protects the motor from overload, the maintenance workload is small, the soft start performance is good, and the start controllable performance. But it is not suitable for belt conveyors that require speed regulation.
(5) Frequency conversion speed regulating motor + reducer
Generally used on large belt conveyors that require speed regulation.
Features: Excellent soft start performance, stepless speed change, excellent controllability. But the price is expensive, and the electric control equipment covers a large area.
