Henan Zhengzhou Minning Machinery Co., Ltd (ZK) developed fly ash ceramisite kiln firing technology with solid waste treatment and resource utilization laboratory of Tsinghua University entrepreneurship center. In order to enhance product development capacity, ZK put forward the design idea and scheme of the test line in the construction of 50kg/h ceramic pilotscale experiment.

The following will introduce the features and application of ceramsite sand.

Ceramsite sand is also called as ceramic particles, and smaller particles known as sand, also known as oil fracturing proppant. Ceramsite sand is mainly used for oilfield underground support to increase the production of oil and gas, with which high fracture strength, and is environmental friendly products. Ceramsite sand is made of high quality bauxite, coal and other raw materials. It is a substitute for natural low-strength proppant such as quartz sand, glass ball and metal ball. It has good effect on increasing the production of oil and natural gas.

Ceramsite has excellent properties, such as low density, high cylinder pressure, high porosity, softening coefficient, good frost resistance, and large alkali-resistant aggregate reactivity and so on. Especially the ceramic density is small, with the internal porous, even form and composition, and has a certain strength and ruggedness, and thus there are multi-functional features of light material, corrosion resistance, frost resisting, seismic resistance and good heat preservation.

On account of these excellent properties of ceramic, ceramic sand can be widely applied in oil fracturing proppant, building materials, refractory, thermal insulation materials, water purification, gardening, food and beverage, chemical and other fields.

High-performance ceramsite refers to roasting or unburned ceramsite that the higher strength, lower water absorption, and lower density. Light aggregate is rich in resources, and a wide variety. It is divided into three types: natural light, solid waste lightweight aggregate and artificial light aggregate. According to their production conditions and performance, only special processing of high-performance ceramic can be used to compound high-performance concrete. It generally known as high-performance lightweight aggregate abroad, in China can also be called high-strength ceramic.

High-performance ceramic is artificial lightweight aggregate which the use of appropriate raw materials, with a special processing technology, manufactured with the different density levels, high strength, low porosity, low water absorption. Some properties of this light aggregate and ordinary dense aggregate similar to ordinary light aggregate compared to the performance is more superior.
